Grill Caliente

We made a great choice for dinner tonight. Sarah our waitress was Awesome. We had the GC Trio Appetizer, my wife had a burger and I had the Green chile chicken enchiladas, which were excellent. Also the Beer is COLD!

First off I want to say that the food is great. Our server was amazing and was able to accommodate us being vegans and it was incredibly helpful. Aside from that the restaurant itself was lacking the expected ambience that comes with the high dollar prices on the menu. The restaurant is in desperate need of a new paint job. The owner also doesn’t run AC and instead opens doors, windows, runs fans and a tiny little window air-conditioning unit. The problem with this idea is that flies coming to the restaurant and pester you while you’re trying to eat. Imagine trying to enjoy your tacos and flies continue to try to land on your food. It made the eating experience unenjoyable. We tipped our server well but that was based solely on her service and performance. This place seems to have the attitude that all businesses have here in Ruidoso which is “You can take it or leave it”.

We visit the caliente grill every year we come to Ruidoso. very good menu selection, friendly people and great food! Pet-friendly out on the patio.
